Misty's Graduation

Congratulations Misty! Misty just graduated from Florida Atlantic University with her Master's degree in Social Work. She's been going to school for as long as we've known each other. Now, finally, it's all over.
I was so proud of her as I watched her during her procession into the FAU auditorium. She looked amazing as she wore her black gown and sash signifying to the rest of the world that she had joined the upper ranks in education with a Master's degree. There were about 200 graduates walking the stage that day, but only a small percentage of them had earned the right to wear that black gown and sash. They were, indeed, special. Those graduating with a Master's degree in social work were truly unique, a realization I came to as I watched them do the wave during the ceremony. Yes, the wave! Although Misty is not one to desire much attention, she sure got it when I yelled at the top of my lungs when they called her name to walk the stage. About 1000 people instantly turned their attention on her (and I guess a few on me). I apologize to the people sitting in front of me, I didn't mean to make you jump out of your seats.
We celebrated with a fantastic party at Misty's mother's house (Gerri) and many of our closest friends and family attended. Food and drink were plentiful and smiles were even more abundant. Thanks to Gerri and the rest of the family for making it so special for Misty.
So now, in the spirit of celebration, Misty and I are preparing to take a vacation to Disney World in Orlando. Well, Misty is actually dead asleep right now after all the commotion this weekend. But she'll be up bright and early getting everything ready for the trip. Stay tuned for pics of Disney.
